Managing Your Subscription

Viewing Current Plan

  1. Go to SettingsBilling
  2. See your current plan details
  3. View usage statistics
  4. Check next billing date

Upgrading Your Plan

When to upgrade:

  • Approaching subscriber limit
  • Need more sends per day
  • Want advanced features
  • Need better support

How to upgrade:

  1. Go to SettingsBilling
  2. Click "Upgrade Plan"
  3. Select new plan
  4. Review pricing
  5. Confirm upgrade
  6. Updated immediately

Billing:

  • Prorated charge for remainder of period
  • New rate starts next billing cycle
  • No service interruption

Downgrading Your Plan

When to downgrade:

  • Lower subscriber count
  • Reduced sending needs
  • Budget constraints
  • Feature needs changed

How to downgrade:

  1. Go to SettingsBilling
  2. Click "Change Plan"
  3. Select lower plan
  4. Review limitations
  5. Confirm downgrade
  6. Takes effect next billing cycle

Important:

  • ⚠️ Downgrade effective at end of current period
  • ⚠️ Check new limits before downgrading
  • ⚠️ May lose access to certain features
  • ⚠️ Excess subscribers may be suppressed

Canceling Subscription

To cancel (return to Hobby plan):

  1. Go to SettingsBilling
  2. Click "Cancel Subscription"
  3. Select reason (optional)
  4. Confirm cancellation
  5. Access until end of billing period

After cancellation:

  • Reverts to Hobby plan limits
  • 1,000 subscriber limit
  • 3 sends per day limit
  • Data retained
  • Can resubscribe anytime

Billing & Payments

Payment Methods

Accepted:

  • Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex)
  • Debit cards
  • PayPal (coming soon)
  • Wire transfer (Enterprise only)

Billing Cycles

Monthly:

  • Billed on the same date each month
  • Cancel anytime
  • No long-term commitment

Annual: (Coming Soon)

  • Save 20% vs monthly
  • Billed once per year
  • Better for established newsletters

Managing Payment Methods

Update payment method:

  1. Go to SettingsBilling
  2. Click "Payment Method"
  3. Add new card or update existing
  4. Set as default
  5. Save changes

Multiple payment methods:

  • Add backup payment method
  • Switch between methods
  • Remove old methods

Invoices & Receipts

Access invoices:

  1. Go to SettingsBillingInvoices
  2. View all past invoices
  3. Download PDF
  4. Email invoice to accounting

Invoice details:

  • Date and amount
  • Plan details
  • Tax information (if applicable)
  • Company information

Failed Payments

If payment fails:

  1. Email notification sent
  2. Retry attempted in 3 days
  3. Second retry after 6 days
  4. Account downgraded if still failing

Resolve quickly:

  • Update payment method
  • Check card expiration
  • Ensure sufficient funds
  • Contact support if issues

Usage & Limits

Monitoring Usage

Track in dashboard:

  • Current subscriber count vs limit
  • Newsletter sends used today
  • API requests this month
  • Storage used (if applicable)

Usage notifications:

  • 80% of limit - Warning email
  • 95% of limit - Urgent warning
  • 100% of limit - Upgrade required

Handling Limit Overages

Subscribers over limit:

  • New signups queued
  • Upgrade to activate
  • Or remove inactive subscribers

Sends over daily limit:

  • Blocked until next day
  • Upgrade for higher limit
  • Or split sends across days

Soft vs Hard Limits:

  • Soft: Warning, still functional
  • Hard: Blocked until resolved
